Membership is Free! Getting involved with the Suncoast Network is easy. Just pick an event and show up! Our events include socials, game-watching parties, featured speakers and more! We hope to see you at an event soon!

We Need Volunteers

College Fairs: Local college fairs are held in the Fall and Spring. If you would like to volunteer, please contact our Student Recruiting Chair.

Scholarship Interviews: Interviews for the President's Scholarship and the Suncoast Network Scholarship are held each Spring. If you would like to help out with interviews, please contact our Scholarship Chair. Please see the Officer List for contact information. Officers and Committees

Are you interested in doing more to help your alumni network be a success? Become a network officer! Listed below are the Suncoast Network offices and a summary of duties for each.

  • President: Serves as the primary liaison with the Alumni Association and other Network Presidents; serves as a member of all committees; presides at meetings; assumes responsibility for success of all Network activities. Must be a Georgia Tech alumnus.
  • Vice-President: Performs duties of the president in his/her absence; handles arrangements for all meetings and programs; assists other Network officers when needed; prepares to assume presidential duties. Must be a Georgia Tech alumnus.
  • Secretary: Maintains Network’s active alumni list; coordinates meeting agendas with president; records minutes for all board meetings; sends Network meeting reports to Alumni Association.
  • Treasurer: Serves as funds custodian; collects fees and dues from Network members; maintains statement of accounts for Network operating and scholarship accounts; prepares yearly Network Financial Statement.
  • Scholarship Chair: Acts as liaison between Assistant Director and Network volunteers. Organizes President’s Scholars and local Network scholarship interviews. Coordinates Network alumni availability for interviews each year.
  • Student Recruitment Chair: Works with Admissions Office and Alumni Association to ensure that Georgia Tech is represented at local college fairs. Maintains list of local alumni willing to volunteer at fairs.
  • Yellow Jacket Rep: This position is appointed by the Athletic Association Director of Networks. Serves as main liaison with the Athletic Association. Arranges Alexander-Tharpe Fund fundraisers.
  • Young Alumni Rep: Must have graduated within the past 10 years. Works with other officers to address issues specific to young alumni. Develops programs and events to attract young alumni to the Network. Serves as primary source of Network input for the Young Alumni Advisory Committee.
  • Roll Call Rep: Acts as liaison between Network and Assistant Director of Roll Call. Encourages Network members to donate to Roll Call campaign in effort to meet Network participation goal.
  • Webmaster: Works with other officers to ensure that the information pertinent to each office is contained within the website.
  • Historian: Takes pictures at events and works with Webmaster and Secretary to post pictures on Network website and in newsletter.
